Tradewind 39
Audaciter was launched in 1984, and is hull number 2 of a small production run of 39s at the end of the successful line of Tradewind 33s and 35s.
She has a GRP hull with flush decks (in teak), a long keel and traditional wine-glass cross section. With her bullet-proof mast head rig, she is an immensely capable sea boat that will take you and your family in comfort and safety.
She takes heavy weather in her stride, with a comfortable motion that gives confidence to the crew and lets you arrive feeling fresh. She will heave-to easily and quietly allowing you to relax over lunch or to reef from a superbly stable platform.
Her cockpit is deep and secure, providing the helm with a perfect sailing position, and the crew with great shelter. She has a separate helm position with angled foot braces and a great after-deck seating position. In fine weather the crew can sunbathe on the after-deck, leaned against the front of the coach roof, or stretched out on the warm teak deck.
Her large 45lb CQR anchor is deployed from a purpose built bow roller and a Lewmar electric windlass. After rolling the anchor forward by six inches on the bow roller, it can be fully deployed and recovered at the touch of a button.
When you arrive at your anchorage her large deck becomes an ideal place to lounge and entertain. inside, her deep hull makes the saloon cosy at night yet remain cool on the hottest day.
Audaciter is well laid out for living aboard. Her galley is easily accessible and practical at sea. The saloon is cosy and comfortable with two good sea berths and a pilot - all with lee cloths. She has a large fore-peak with standing headroom, cupboards, drawers, a seat and dressing table. An aft cabin also houses the chart table and electrical panel. The heads are practical and clean, with a Lavac loo that avoids the smells of more recent designs. A water-saving shower and tap combination provides hot showers, and a manual pump is provided for emptying the shower tray.
